Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

I saw this house down the street being gutted when we moved into our new neighborhood. Walking my dogs past this house everyday I couldn't help but notice the windows. They were old, as is the house. 
As I was walking by this morning I saw them taking windows out of their huge dumpster on the road. I then peaked into the yard and saw all of these windows stacked up. I asked if they were just going to throw them away or what. Of course, they said I could have them! So I grabbed a couple and walked back home with windows & dogs in tow. Sitting here I couldn't help but think of the rest of them just resting on a makeshift fence. When I went back the project managers were there and they said this was being turned into a single family home. Pretty interesting seeing buildings being transformed from apartments to just one giant house. 
I grabbed four more windows and lugged them home. I can't decide if I want to repaint the frames or keep them like this. Either way, they are going to need a deep cleaning...

This is something I have always wanted to do, so I am glad I have found the perfect vintage windows to use as my canvas. (for free!)
